Hi everyone hope your all well, this is my first post so apologise if it's in the wrong place! I have a fridge freezer that's approx 18 months old, over the past few months have noticed that it's started to freeze products that are in the bottom draw?? So I brought a thermometer to see what the temp is in there, so at the bottom it's 0 degrees then the middle shelf it's 5 degrees and at the top it's 10! Which is not good for storing food at all. I have tried to turn up the temp to see if this helps with the temp at the top but this only makes things worse at the bottom! I have contacted hotpoint who made the fridge and they wish to charge me for a call out fee and to replace any parts if needed. I paid for the fridge freeze on my credit card, Is there anything I can do to claim under the terms and conditions on my credit card? Sorry for the long thread.

You are not over filling your fridge are you?

At 18 months you would need to prove that the fridge was inherently faulty, so getting an independent report done.

Your contract is with whoever you bought the fridge from e.g. The retailer. Did you buy direct from Hotpoint?

Look at the little buttons that effectively turn the internal light on and off as the doors are opened and closed. Same thing happened with mine which meant that the lights stayed on even when the doors were closed and it was the heat from the bulbs which was causing the increased temperature.
