Parcel drop off points (parcels 2 go, UPS, DPD)

Hello there. Long time lurker and now a first time poster.
I need some help or a advise please.

I was selling something on eBay (speaker) and me and the buyer decided to remove it off eBay and do a private sale to save me fees.

The buyer paid through PayPal (friends and family). At the same time he bought the enclosure for it. All purchases was done 27th November 2017.

2x parcels now booked through 'Parcels 2 Go' and was to be dropped off at a UPS access point.

Looking at the tracking information, the enclosure which is massive was delivered. The speaker looks like it's been booked (labels printed only) and not scanned at the UPS access point. Also when collection happened for the enclosure, the speaker wasn't scanned by the driver either. Could this have been stolen from the shop?

Delivery no later than 30th November according to the tracking information.

So we have now a result of a enclosure being delivered and the speaker still pending.

There is no way of contacting Parcels 2 Go. I have phoned UPS 3 times and said they have sent Parcels 2 Go 3 emails now and still waiting for a reply. Since I have paid through PayPal for my parcels 2 go bookings, I have taken action with them now resulting with a suspended services. Hopefully this will get there attention.
Unfortunately my item(s) are not fully cover for the value of £130. So if things went bad, they stated £20 on website and maybe the courier postage paid back. It's something but not all of it.
The buyer has been very good and patient with me but gave a deadline for the Monday coming up 4th December 2017.
While this is happening is the news agents (UPS access point) held liable until driver has collected the item(s)? I do have the receipt which is given to me with and written tracking information on it. It's not barcoded unlike DPD or My Hermes.

Just seeing if I could recover some cost through the news agents aswell.

Thank you.

The newsagent are acting as UPS' agent so have no liability to you. UPS also have no liability to you because your contract is with Parcel2Go.

If the item is lost you need to refund your buyer and contact Parcel2Go to claim whatever you can on the insurance.

Have you made enquiries with the newsagent? Perhaps they can find the item.
  • Hello there.
I have been the the news agents twice and they said the driver has taken everything.
I don't get it. If he has taken everything why is this item not even scanned?

So your saying the news agents are not liable?

I will be refunding the buyer tomorrow. I'm gutted! At least I have learned my lesson and will NEVER use parcel 2 go as there is no way of contacting them.

    Hope PayPal can help me.

Actually I have had a major problem with parcel2go recently and spoke to them via live chat on their website. If this doesn't sort it then try facebook. They are a crap company but I will never make the mistake of using them again. Did you not get a receipt when you dropped the item off? Hindsight is a wonderful thing but ensure you never post another parcel through any carrier (inc royal mail) without insurance covering the full value.

Yes I did get a receipt. It's got the UPS stamp etc on it but no barcode. Just hand written tracking information. So could say this is a receipt.

I'm glad I have paid through PayPal tho. I hope other people do the same.

I have tried the live chat numerous of time but nothing works for me. No click here or email there. Just nothing directing you to where you need to go. On filter inspection, other 3rd parties like parcel monkeys etc are exactly the same. Maybe next time I will book directly with a courier instead of trying to shave of acouple of quid.

Really been burnt on this. Item is worth £130

I have also messaged through Facebook and Twitter!

Irrespective of who you book with, failure to take out adequate insurance means you won't get your money back. The buyer was stupid too for taking the purchase away from ebay and outside of PayPal protection.

Next time do it by the book. It might cost you a little but doing it unofficially has cost you far more.

I had parcel2go parcel go missing, eventually refunded. This can be dealt with through their website but from memory it wasn't made easy and they created endless delays.

A small drop off shop near me gets customers to leave parcels literally on the shop floor which is very insecure. I now avoid using them because of this.
  • I have now refunded the guy. He has been very understanding about it all.
Yes I should of taken insurance out. My fault. But in all my time sending parcels, this is the biggest loss I have made.

In future I will deal directly with DPD or UPS and NEVER a 3rd party. I'm gutted.

I just don't understand how you can miss something 22inch wide and 14inch high
