Would 'system restore' recover deleted MS Office?

An acquaintance told me that she had deleted MS Office in error (how do you do that??) and that she'd sent the machine to a repair shop.
She then sent me this:
As it turned out it was very complicated, I had already had a windows support advisor remotely control the computer who wasn't able to find it and neither could the repair shop, I am having to buy a new Microsoft Office but in the meantime using a free Office that allows access to my word documents
IDK what version of Windows it is. Has she been had?

But system restore will restore it provided you have a suitable point0 -
But note that system restore doesn't restore any data files ... just programme and system files.0
