  • Happy new year everyone - please can I join in?

We are hoping to move into a new build at the end of this year, but as it hasn't even been started yet, I have no idea when it will complete! At the relevant time, our mortgage will increase as a result of the move, but in the meantime, I am still looking at a combination of overpaying and putting cash into an "offset" account on our existing mortgage.

So, if I could set myself an overpay/offset target of £10,000 that would help no end, whatever house we are in at the end of 2018!

    Good luck everyone!

Im new to this board so would you prefer me to just update at the end of the month when i know the full payment for the month?

That's less work for me, so I'd appreciate it. :) If you get more motivation from seeing the numbers change throughout the month, though, that's fine too.

We bought a house last summer, it is still being built and will be ready to move in in early summer, when mortgage repayments start. So I'd like to save an additional €3000 towards allowed annual overpayments to be paid in 2019.

    Welcome! You're #178. :)
  • Can I join please?

I'd like to aim for a £2000 overpayment in the first instance.
