Currys warranty product replacement voucher

I get that, but why have they just randomly given me a product replacement payment voucher if it doesn't cover a replacement? Why didn't they call to find discuss this before issuing it?0

Does it really matter what they're calling it? At the end of the day they are offering a value to go "towards" buying a new phone should you wish, or anything else for that matter.
Humans find meaning in what things are called. Shrug.0 -
I hope they don't revoke it because I've been an entitled little !!!!.0

Got to agree with other posters here.
You've been told that there is nothing wrong with the phone by a independent repair agent. And to be honest, it does sound like normal battery wear and tear.
The more a item is used, and depending on condition, usage, lifestyle, care etc the battery life can vary immensely.
Getting a independent report stating it is inherent (Battery doesn't hold as much charge as used to) is a fools errand.
The fact that you've been given a voucher ref, without any proof, for a consumable item is miles better than what you'd expect.
(Also cheapest iPhone on Currys website is a iPhone SE 128GB for £399)
Plus you dont have to actually hand the unit back, if they're already given a voucher ref you can take ID into any Currys / PcWorld store and spend the voucher or get it onto a gift card.
I'd snap their hand off.0 -

Agreed. And even take it to Apple for an out of warranty repair. Not sure how much they charge (£120?) ... if yes then you'd end up with a refurbished, working phone plus £353 to spend at Currys, giving a net "profit" of £233.0

Battery replacement carried out by Apple is ~£100 ("from £79" - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/iphone/repair/battery-power). Likely cheaper via a third-party independent.0

Or sell your old phone on and get yourself a new one with the cash from that and the Curry's voucher.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
