It's apparently due to dairy closures so less being produced with a consequent shortage of supply.
I still think it's far too low to give dairy farmers a decent price for their product and is almost certainly why dairies are closing already. That's going to have a knock on effect of increasing prices further as fewer will be producing.
I know the consumer wants cheap milk but it is only sensible and fair to pay a decent price to the producers to keep their businesses viable. Otherwise everybody loses out in the end.0 -

I've been trying to do my bit at Morrisons 23p extra for farmers.
It didnt help apparentlymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Usually pay £1 for 4 PTS but seems to have jumped up to £1.09 and £1.10 everywhere I've been this week,. EXCEPT ICELAND,. Still 99p in Iceland but for how long. 10% rise !
And yet the price to farmers is dropping -

Iceland still 99p. (Though Morrison's have now increased the price of ,2kg bag of sugar, has been 88p for ages, now increased to £1).0

The average GB farmgate milk price was 29.98ppl in Sept which is an annual increase of 30.7%.
