Son has just moved into a property with NSR (or NSH if you like), and has a "key" to put credit on the meter (a 2 rate day/night meter) which while "Economy 7" ready has discovered the previous tenant had all her leccy on 1 standard rate...meaning the night storage was using 13p/unit leccy after 10pm (approx) not the 6p/unit of Economy 7 (or its equivalent)
He has slimline wall heaters with timers which ive never seen as NSH before and can his key meter be kept for a monthly tariff?

Now we all know how it felt to play in the band on the Titanic...

Are you sure that they are night storage heaters - check the make and model numbers on each of them to find out.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Your son needs to register with the existing electricity supplier, will probably be provided with a new key of his own, and will then get the E7 tariff (unless he requests something dofferent, and the supplier agrees)
Until then, he will be crediting the ex-tenant's account, and I don't think he want's to be doing that.
Once that is done, probably worth him consulting a comparison site and finding the best deal for him (although there's not much in it nowadays since price caps are in force for PPM customers)0
