Only paid £167.09

First of all, Hello everyone.

So i am owed £1462 in 20 weeks backdated ESA payments, and today i received a text from DWP saying they have received the sick notes and payment will be made on 1/12/2017 which is today, so today i checked the bank and their is only £167.09 been paid in and not the initial £1462, anyone know why this is or what i should do?

What is the reason you think they owe you that much? With them recieving the sick/fit notes then you couldn't have been put into one of the groups.

When i received a phone call from them they said i was owed 20 weeks money from when i started the claim and the woman told me it was £1462 and she said i needed to get a sick note from 6th July to 22 nov and they will backdate it, and the lady told me i had to go to the jobcentre and get them to forward the sick note over to DWP.

All you can do is call them to clarify the amounts due.

"With them receiving the sick/fit notes then you couldn't have been put into one of the groups" what do you mean by this? and why was i told on the phone to send the sick note in dated from 6th of july to current if they wasn't going to pay me what they said they was going to?

After re-reading the OP, the sum stated is roughly 20 weeks at assessment rate. I'm amazed that a claim was held open that long if no med certs had been received, but that's another matter. The OP doesn't mention anything about being put into either WRAG or Support Group which also supports the assumption that they are still in the assessment phase.

Could it be that this is the first regular payment and the back pay will be issued separately?

I'm not too sure if they received medical certificates as i have a support worker dealing with most of this but tbh she has not really done anything at all, hence why it's taken so long, and as far as i'm aware i'm in the assessment phase.

No one here can answer your questions about your money in your bank. DWP will be open from 8am Monday morning, i advice you call them and ask because they're the only ones that can give you the answers.

A support worker involved could explain why the claim remained open so long without medical certs.
