What does EMO mean?

I am probably being a bit dumb here but am looking at clothes and a lot of them say EMO after them, such as GOTH EMO. So, does anyone know what EMO means, stands for or is??

Emo stands for emotional, so it's emotional rock, but the only one they actually practice is being miserable, they're basically baby goths who are all being individuals by looking exactly the same

I have an 18yo old female cousin who is 'EMO'.

I told her yesterday that she was a wannabe goth, and I nearly got slaughtered for it

What really annoys her though, is that I've been listening to emo from before it was popular, and know more about it than her. I'm only 35, but between her and my own kids, I'm starting to feel old before my time.

I'd love to show her photos from 20 years ago, when I was a bit goth myself, but I had a thing about cameras back then - the whole 'don't look at me' sort of thing - so I don't think there are too many.

Have to agree with Helzbelz though. It's about the most unindividual 'individual' look I've seen for years.
Bless 'em..... I can't wait to slag her off in about 5 years when she's wearing suits to work and conforming like the rest of us :rotfl:
