Interesting letter received re Egg

So I put in a PPI claim to Egg - probably a good couple of years ago now, however it was rejected as they said it wasn't mis-sold.

Today I have received a letter from Canada Square Operations saying I might be eligible for some money back due to them taking a high level of commission on my PPI policy. It comes with a simple form to complete and a pre-paid envelope to send it back to them.

This raises 2 questions for me:

1 - has anyone else had this and any comments/thoughts on it? Are they doing this to get out of paying a higher amount than if I claimed myself for example.

2 - my initial rejected claim - do I have any grounds for going back/appealing this?

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

    1) Look on this site for 'Plevin'
    2) No

    Thanks BoGoF - appreciate that.

My assumption therefore is just to complete and send back and who knows.
  • Brinders,

I’ve had exactly the same letter in identical circumstances, had my claim bounced years ago and now this. I intend to complete it and return it and something tells me this isn’t a blanket type letter to anyone. Intrigued to say the least

It's just re Plevin commission- not massively intriguing, but may result in a payout for you.

So, coming back after all this was resolved - just before Christmas I received a nice cheque from Canada Square Operations. Around 3-4 weeks from sending the form back to having the cheque in my hand.

Thanks to all for the advice, and to anyone else receiving one - just complete it and send it back.:j
  • Hi

Just been reading your thread and wanted to ask you a quick question.

I had a credit card with Egg Money a few years back and the account was closed when they sold it off.

I contacted Barclaycard who say that they don't have any record of it.

I don't have any account details.

Would you know where I would need to send my claim to?

    Thank you in advance

I don't I'm afraid - I'd have a search through the forum, or start a new thread - someone is sure to help you...
