If he is going to be treated at the Eastman though, it's as good a result as you could have hoped for. It is 'the' institution in this country.
Toothsmith thank you so much for your kindness and reassurance. I have finally allowed myself to cry and can’t stop!
The accident happened during a PE lesson when the class were using the fitness equipment. My son was on the treadmill and came off hitting his face on the moving bit. The friction burns to his knees are awful ….. Thank goodness they are not on his face. As you can imagine I am very disappointed.
Your kindness and consideration have made me feel more hopeful….
Thank you.

When the trauma bit settles down, I would guess that there are some issues here that the school need to address.
Was there sufficient instruction on the safe usage of the treadmill? Was it well supervised? Was there a malfunction?
Gyms don't let under 16s on treadmills, why does the school? (Is it safer than running them round the school field?)
If your son was just ar$ing about, then OK - it's a painful lesson for him, but the school need to be able to justify their precautions to prevent this sort of thing from happening, otherwise I would guess they do have questions to answer. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Thank you so much everyone for your kind replies.
I have had a phone call form the school this evening to say that the dental costs can be met by the school insurance.
The bill of £8,000 is nearly half our comined annual income I simply couldn't imagine finding that amount, but, I didn't want to make important decisions based on cost alone.
What I do find sad though, is that I have opted for £25,000 worth of legal cover with contents insurance as an added optional extra and not once thought about accident cover for my two boys. Maybe I need to reconsider my priorities.
Thanks again

That's good news at least.
As I said earlier, if the Eastman takes him on, you will get excellent treatment at no cost to you. Worth just checking over what time period the school's insurance will cover him though, as this is likely to be ongoing for a few years yet.How to find a dentist.
