I dyed a pair of jeans with the special jeans dye but I was really disappointed as the colour came out completely solid, just like normal dye. So don't dye the sort of jeans with fadey bits and expect them stil to look fadey, they just come out a solid quite bright blue. I overdyed them again with grey though and they looked lovely.0

If you don't want to dye them just yet, then try re-washing, but pre-treating the stain/mark first....a bit of a gentle rub with a bar of soap often works wonders....don't be too tempted to scrub at them with a nail brush or you could end up getting rid of the mark and gaining a faded patch in it's place.
Oh and clean the sole of your iron, before anything else gets the same treatment.
