Dealer knowingly selling faulty car

I remember that, Mike bought it for less than the engine would sell for on eBay.
The owner was in the Porsche club too, and not one of the members had suggested an oil change for the "well known and obvious fault" that Ed spotted immediately.
I suspect they give a lot more for the cars and then film a fake buy myself, and I wouldn't put it past them to engineer most of the "faults" too
The Porsche targa, bmw 635 and a third car all appeared on eBay at the same time. All with the same seller and after 3 individual buyers had "bought" them for tv.0 -

The Porsche with sticking gears seemed genuine as a Porsche gearbox had supposed to have never failed. Just draining it and topping it up would have been too difficult for me0 -

Porsche gearbox never failed.
Have you ever watched the show?
Two out of three had gearbox problems.0 -
So you bought it and rejected it? They issued a refund ok then? I'm assuming they did as there's no mention of that here... So they can't be that dodgy? If they was knowingly trying to sell a lemon they'd fight hand over fist to get out of it0

On a car they're selling for £2,795? Highly unlikely.
Plenty of minor issues that can give the same symptoms, mostly pennies to fix.
Could be something as simple as a throttle sensor, or cable adjustment or maybe it lacked power and just needed a service.
Without knowing the exact cars details and engine etc. we wont know.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Maybe i should have mentioned on the first test drive we found out the drivers side drive shaft was snapped...not worn and not failing but snapped, the garage two units down stated "snapped why you test drive".
Over looked that and on returning found the gearbox fault...benefit of the doubt once yes...twice No way.
Since looked on Ford owners and a huge amount of issues with auto ford boxes and mostly major money to fix.
Paid by credit card with 3% added..Dealer wanted to refund by bank transfer, then after refused he said he would refund minus the 3%.
So yes got refund as i was very insistent..and other customers walked in so pretty obvious he wanted to simply shut me up and get rid, which i was happy with.0 -

Lacked power...no as said under load going up a hill the auto box refused to change gear.
Gearbox was obviously faulty..i've had plenty of Auto"s over the years.
One of the Auto Galaxy"s i've owned had the gearbox serviced/fixed due to Auto box fault and that was over £1900 to fix, thats 4 years back.
When they go wrong they are seriously expensive to fix/service.0 -

May have missed it but what's the car? Unless it had a limited slip diff or was a Daf 32, 33, 44, or 55, a snapped drive shaft would prevent it going anywhere.0 -

As has already been pointed out to you, there are many faults that are cheap fixes on autoboxes, but that doesn't suit your conspiracy theory.0 -

Entirely possible it lacked power unless you took it on a test track and ran it at full throttle in every gear and timed the accleration.
Even a small issue with the throttle position or a small drop in power can affect an autobox.
£1900 for a galaxy autobox, rebuilt to as new condition?
It drove with a broken driveshaft? Try that on 99% of cars and it will simply sit there and go nowhere. All the power will go through the broken shaft.
Gearbox was obviously faulty? Tell us what the exact fault was with the gearbox then as you must have diagnosed it properly.
Most issues i have found on auto boxes are cables adjustments or where an engine problem was actually causing the fault.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
