Wireless connection to laptop

I bought two identical small laptops(Medion/Aldi) a year ago for my twin grandchildren.
They both worked OK until recently. Now one of the laptops will not connect to the BT Hub router unless it is in the same room and no more than about 10 feet from the Hub.
The other laptop connects anywhere in the house, as do all the various other laptops/Ipads/smart TVs etc.
Has anyone any thoughts please on the possible problem with the faulty laptop.

I would suspect one of 2 things
1) the antenna cable had become disconnected
2) duff wifi card
Exactly a year ago... still under warranty?0
