Hello folks
Any advice on putting furniture in storage.
What's the going rates? (I live in Scotland, if that makes a difference)
Thanks

I've managed to 'declutter' before putting my house up for sale last week, by putting 21, yes 21 boxes of toys-clothes-photo's & a fridge in a wooden storage box in a furniture removal company's warehouse! The crate is approx 8 x 8 x 8 feet & it is less than 1/2 full. Costing me £10.40 per week. I did a google search, phoned some of the 'secure storage' companies etc, but was not willing to pay the average £140 per month charge that they were quoting for a slightly larger unit.
I would suggest trying removal firms 1st before trying the specialist storage companies.
Hope this may be of some help .

Thanks for that.
Will get on the phone and see what the score is.0 -
Good advice from Jock. Get at least three quotes, try different 'types' of storage people...
- the self-service ones are good/secure, but I found them more expensive - depends on how much space you need.
- removal companies generally cheaper but you need to factor in that they charge for collecting it and delivering it backIf it was easy, everyone would do it!0
