New Ottoman bed badly built help please.

I had a full opening ottoman bed delivered on Monday from Simply Beds and paid extra for assembly.

Once assembled, the top platform of the bed did not align properly with the base it is a good 1.5" out each side at the foot end.

The fitters then set about pushing the foot end as hard as they could to force the alignment.


I have not signed the delivery note to say that I'm happy.
I have phoned the shop and the company but I'm just getting platitudes and no plan of action.


I paid by credit card. What do I do next please?

    Promises of getting it sorted
    "these things take time"
    "I've let you down"
    "I know you're disappointed"
    "I will do everything I can"
    "We need to get an inspector out- busy schedule"
    "Christmas is coming and the factory closes"


    The shop has passed me on to the manufactures to deal with them directly.
    I have had a very brief conversation with someone there and the promise of a call back but still waiting.


    I now wonder if these are delaying tactics
