mis-sold PPI

in Credit cards
I advised my friend to take out a vauquish card as his credit rating is shot and if he used it wisely it would help him rebuild it.Anyway, upon activation he is sold PPI. But he is on disability benefits, has about 4 pre-existing illnesses and and doesn't pay any NI (i think-becuase he is on benefits) So with this information, does this not make him ineligible for PPI? I know he definatley would not be able to claim on any of his existing illnesses anyway, and if he went to hospital, he doesn't stop getting a "wage" cus it's benefits. I don't think he could claim at all. I ave advised him to cancel it anyway, and i feel angry that he has been mis-sold. I know the "main exclusions"wouldhave been read to him before he excepted, but they should have realised he is unemplotyed. Many thanks for any response.

I agree.
Is death cover included?
Otherwise it is a complete waste of time and money for him.0 -

Did he tell them about his existing conditions? or that he was unemployed? They should ask but the onus is on the customer to volunteer any information that may be pertinent.
PPI will still often cover in these types of situation, but only for conditions that were not pre-existing at time of cover being taken, so if he was really unlucky and developed another illness/injury then would cover him then, so dont think you would have been missold. As always though, read the T&C, every companies policy is different0
