Pontins!

I booked a holiday back in January, paid the balance four weeks ago and today (4 weeks before we go) I receive a telephone call telling me I have to change the dates of the holiday!! Can't believe it, everything's sorted for the week I booked - dog sitter, work holidays for myself and my mum, school holiday forms handed in etc and my mate changed her hen night cos I was going to be away when she had it. Not impressed a load of hassle I don't need really. Got to call them tomorrow to tell them whether I want to book another week or have a refund!! Want to tell them to shove it but the children would be gutted.

I would ask Citizen's Advice Board for their opinion as surely Pontins had made a contract with you.
From my last experience of Pontins you may have had a lucky escape! But this is not much consolation.
Bet you could get something at Butlins or Haven with the refund - but surely they should be compensating you for the inconvenience?"This site is addictive!"

Just spoken to them again. I've agreed to change holiday date, but now I can't have the accomodation I wanted!! They've offered me £100 in 'Pontins pounds' but I'm still not happy
I much prefer Butlins but it's a good way to travel and I can't manage the extra cost in getting there unfortunately. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass

Did they give you any excuse - overbooking, rennovation, unforeseen circumstances? If the first of these I would be very cheesed off and would not be much happier with the second. If possible I would push for a few extra Pontins pounds or ask them for something that costs them nothing (e.g. free admission to something).
Don't let it spoil your holiday.
