Using sky Q satellite feed into freesat TV

Hi, I have an LG tv which has both freeview and freesat tuners. I’ve had sky q this last year but just cancelled contract and in last week before it stops. I’m trying to get the feed into the tV working, but the satellite has a double cable coming in, and the tv only has one satellite in port. I’ve tried each one individually but cannot get any channels to tune on either. Do I need an adaptor? Thanks 🙏

You need a Hybrid LNB with six outputs,

if you did not specify it when Sky Q was installed it won't have been, the usual Sky Q LNB with two outputs which you probably have won't work.

Just done this myself, but I had to buy a Humax box to connect to the dish and receive the Freesat, the TV cannot just pick it up. You need a box with 2 ports: the box is either WiFi or ethernet-cabled (preferably ethernet)
This was mine:

But there are others:

And I believe there are reconditioned ones available too. I had to fit a Freesat LNB (the 'gun-shape that points into the dish) as they are different to the Sky one: they are not expensive. Check out this explanation:

A Quad LNB and another box, would allow you to use another TV from the same dish:

a much bigger hammer.

If the TV has a satellite tuner then all you need to do is connect a standard LNB to it. This works fine with the Sky HD setup LNBs but perhaps the SkyQ LNBs are different?
You do not need a Humax or similar box unless you want to record programs.
Plus don't forget you will have to return the Sky Q box to Sky as, unlike the HD boxes, you never own them.0 -
Thank you everyone. If I understand it correctly the LNB thing you are recommending is something that has to be attached to the dish? I had no idea I’d have to do that, in my old house the satellite feed ran freesat as well as sky.
Looks like I’ll have to stick to freeview for now, I don’t even own a ladder!0 -

They are, a propriety system specifically for Sky Q. Hence the reason Sky will provide a Hybrid for use with existing Sky boxes or Freesat if asked prior to installation of the dish.0 -

Yes the LNB is the 'black box' is on the end of the dish arm, it receives the signals bounced off the dish and converts them to suit the receiver.
A local satellite dish installer (not Sky) should be able to fit a suitable LNB, ring around. Look for a CAI approved installer.0
