The People's Operator are giving away free Pay as you Go SIM Cards with £10 free credit Here >>
Once you order and register your SIM card they'll give you the free credit.
They also have a discount on their "Super Bundle" (1000 minutes, 1000 texts and 2 GB of data) and it's reduced from £15 to £10. So it makes sense to spend your free £10 on that.
Because it's Pay as you Go, you're under no obligation to continue using the network. You can just chuck the SIM away.
But if you do want to keep using TPO then they'll also double your first top-up. So if you felt like being a bit cheeky you could probably top up £60, then they'll give you £120 credit. That would work out to a whole year of calls, texts and data for only £60.
FYI: TPO use EE's 3G network and they donate lots of money to charity.
This deal is not available directly through their website.

I should attribute the heads up on this to HUKD
A first version of this sim was publicised in February as a pay £10 for 1GB of data, get 200MB free in perpituity thereafter. A good enough offering made better by this (technically data only) sim being useable for service at Three's rock bottom Payg prices of 3p/min calls and 2p/sms upon payment of a minimum £2 topup.
They have now quietly launched a version now requiring no upfront payment. Register at https://www.three.co.uk/freedata and you get six months worth of 200MB for nowt - not much for some but fine for light users who just want warning of emails on the go, check web pages, maps etc. After that you'd need to add a couple of pounds to the account to be able to fulfil the rule of "chargeable event at least ever 180 days"
The data is trailered as qualifying for the Three at Home benefits. Some posts on HUKD have queried the ability to put the sim in a regular (3/4g only) phone but I can certify this works perfectly well, having done this after receipt yesterday.
Go to this page to read more and order without any payment necessary.0
