Bath sealent - drying time?

My OH re-sealed the bath yesterday afternoon as the old sealent was black.
I soooo want to have a shower/bath but I have just checked and the sealent is still sticky/tacky to touch.
How long does it take to dry as I am desperate to have a shower??!!!!

It usually takes AGES !
If your really desperate and have tiled walls round the bath you can tape a very large polythene sheet that completely goes right round the bath at above shower-head height and let it drape into the bottom of the bath.
I used a cheapo clear plastic dust sheet from B&Q when i did mine as it's huge.
As long as the water goes nowhere near the sealant it'll be ok. If the sealant gets wet before it's dry it usually turns to a jelly like state and will never set and spoil.
Also better not to get bathroom steamy either until the sealant is dry.0 -
Well here's hoping it will be dry before this evening then as I am desperate to wash my hair!!!
It's says on the sealent 24 hours. I'll kill my OH if he's got it wet and it doesn't dry properly!!!!0 -
You've answered your own question Looby and I would have said 24 hours as a guess before looking at the small print on the sealant. As someone else said, that should be 24 hours without using the bathroom much so that it doesn't get damp / moist and affect the sealant.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

I know its a bit late now but when you seal around a bath you should fill the bath with water and leave for 12 hours so that the sealant is stretched. It makes a better seal0

Yes, we did do that. OH sealed it yesterday afternoon with the bath full and I emptied it out this morning.
There's about 2 hours left of the 24 hours and it still sticky!!:mad:0
