Plusnet + BT sport

Having a look on the Plusnet website, I can see you can get Unlimited Fibre for £28.50 a month + BT sport app for £5 a month.

Is anybody enlisted with this deal, or have experience with Plusnet? It seemd odd that it would be undercutting BT!

BT own Plusnet. They quite often undercut the parent company... The broadband isn't bad.
  • I am currently paying Plusnet £2.50 a month for the BT Sports App for the 1st 12 months, after which it reverts to £5 a month.

Last week a friend got an email advertising the £2.50 deal for 6 months.

It's certainly worth contacting them as you may well get the BT Sports App for £2.50 a month for 6 or 12 months.
  • Thanks guys.

Will definitely contact them to see if I can get the BY sport for even cheaper!

I've heard mixed things about their customer service. Ever experienced any issues?
  • As with any large company they get their fair share of moans. In the few years I have been with them, I have never had a problem with them.

There can be a long wait if you phone them at a peak times. I think the longest I have ever waited is about 10 minutes. Also, their call centre is UK based.

I would definitely recommend them, but not everyone would agree.:)

I can beat 10 minutes... 26 minutes on hold the other day. On a Sunday morning.
  • Well unfortunately I've decided to give this a miss...

The main issue being cancelling my Virgin within the cooling off period will result in no internet for approx 2-3 weeks while I wait for PlusNet to install... bit too long for my liking!

    There is always next year!

I have Plusnet fibre broadband and Plusnet Youview+ Box TV. The TV costs £5 per month which includes extra premium channels plus £3 per month for the entertainment Plus package. I also get BT Sport 1 which Plusnet calls "BT Sport Lite" included but if I want the BT Sport app I would have to take the full BT Sport package which costs a further £5 per month.

Overall Plusnet is pretty good but there are occasional short-term glitches with Youview which it appears no-one knows anything about. For example Universal Channel is currently showing in 4:3 aspect ratio.

As a current PN customer I have taken up the £2.50 pm offer for BT Sport. So far it's excellent ,allowing me to cast to the lounge TV via Chromecast -good quality and (so far) no buffering.
Shame about the England batting efforts tho':(
