Ebico, Avro, Bristol Energy or Bulb?

Just ran a comparison with the Cheap Energy Club in readiness to switch and found a few providers to choose from but I'm not sure which one to go for. There are cheaper providers but the feedback isn't good at all.

• Ebico variable: £23 a month
• Bristol Energy fixed: £27 a month
• Avro fixed: £27 a month
• Bulb variable: £29 a month

I've read mixed reviews about Avro, so I'm a bit reluctant to switch to them. Bristol Energy seem to have some good reviews. Ebico are the cheapest but there's no recent feedback. Bulb seem to be highly-rated but naturally they're the most expensive of the bunch.

I've been with Bristol Energy for a few months and they've been good - quick responses to queries etc.

I signed up to ebico a couple of months ago and everything seems to be going well. They answer the phone quickly and dealt with the query I had promptly.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm tempted to go with Ebico. Are their bills easy to understand?

EBIco bills are no harder to understand than any other provider.

I've not had any problems with them and they answer the phone quickly.

Ebico have been great for me for me and I wouldn't hesistate to recommend them for their good service . As a very low user, the zero standing charge has massively reduced costs for me.

I've not needed to contact them as eveything has run smoothly and my interactions (submitting meter readings, billing and other notifications) have benn via their easy to use web portal

I would just point out that my own tarriff (Ebico Zero) was guaranteed only until December 2017, so be aware that there may be an imminent price rise that changes your cost rankings.

Bulb are great and if you use a code from a current customer you both get £50.:beer:

Just had a look on Ebico's website and can't find info about the Ebico Zero tariff being guaranteed until December - was the info sent to customers only? I might hold off for a few days to see if their prices change.

Note: Tell a lie. I just generated a quote on their website and it does say in the tariff info that the price is guaranteed until December.

Ebico for me has hit the skids: When compared to my existing Scottish Power Online Super Saver December 2018 on uSwitch they are still up there with the cheapest for electricity only. But the difference when the comparison is dual fuel gas and electricity is striking. For electricity only there is a saving of £59 per year but for both gas and electricity Ebico costs £2.84p more and that is equal to Robin Hood and both have a £30 per fuel exit fee.

The above difference is so striking that I suggest that anyone with a dual fuel tariff with Ebico would do well to perform a comparison.

The winner is Outfox The Market Zapp tariff with an annual saving of £89.22 ahead of the second cheapest TOTO with an annual saving of £51.30

in all cases above Eastern region and dual fuel credit meters.

Out of the list provided by the OP I would probably go with Bulb if I was switching because they pay exit fees charged by the existing supplier. In my case that's £50 per fuel making a total of £100.
