You may want to get a payment arrangement on the other then. Millions of people have defaults, and it won't surprise you that some work in the financial sector! It's about risk. You have no CCJ's or past bankruptcy which is good, but it's hard to say what the companies position is. So long as you aren't trying to hide anything, you should be fine. It could be argued that someone with experience of bad debt but managing it now could have more empathy to customers than someone who has never had any.nathan229505 wrote: »one being paid, one unpaid0 -
. Well it's like companies using the disclosure(scotland) route to check on criminal records when nothing in your role depicts the need for disclosure. Some companies now simply have a question on the form because if its found out you lied its grounds for instant dismissal. The problem with Experian sidestepping the rules is we all know there are times your credit file is inaccurate and if you got refused a job due to the credit check, they won't tell you that was the reason. This could make like the OP wonder if they got rejected whether it was the check or some other reason, like interview performance or a change to reduce the number of people they are taking on.You're probably right, but that was not the issue I was addressing. I was merely pointing out how companies like Experian sidestep rules - a bit like some of the people they are checking up on and ruling out of jobs. I doubt the ICO has given much consideration to it. They are not the brightest bulb in the box.0 -
The credit checks that most employers do usually just look at publicly available information - ie CCJs, IVAs, bankruptcy.0
