Just a warning for anyone using Love Energy.
Called them on the 31st October to change provider and went through everything with them (45mins). Today I received an email from my old provider so called them and turns out nothing has ever been put through to change. Called up Love Energy today to see what they had to say and turns out that there was an issue (no idea if true), for some reason they didn't want to ring me and leave a message or email me (both of which they lied about actually doing). Looking online this has happened quite a few times to other people.
Please, please stay away from this dreadful company, has cost me pretty much the amount of money the £30 MSE cashback would have covered.
Also shame on MSE advertising this company.

MSE is a price comparison site which chooses to list all suppliers. How did your existing supplier know that there was a transfer in progress if Love Energy hadn’t informed them? What was the email all about? Transfers usually fail because there is an issue with the meter number or the address, or the existing supplier blocks the transfer. If it is the former, then only your existing supplier can update the National database. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. No MSE is not really a price comparison site, unless you mean the MSE energy club which I was not refering to. MSE does however provide lists of energy comparison sites. Two of those with £30 cashback are at the top of their list and one of those is Love Energy, so this is what I mean by advertising.
Email I got today was to provide my meter reading for the month, nothing about a transfer, appreciate though I put old provider - they are actually my existing supplier and I just assumed they were my old one at the time of the email.
Problem was apparently neither of those it was because the recording failed when I said I wanted to change, they use this for the new supplier. First I heard of it was when I called up Love Energy up today. No missed calls, left messages or emails from them regarding this.0 -
We are splitting hairs. MSE CEC is not promoting Love Energy. The reason that any particular supplier is at the top of the list is because it is the cheapest supplier for your projected annual usage and postcode.
It is MSE CEC’s policy that when a supplier offers a referral fee it shares this with the switcher. Not all suppliers offer third-party PCW referral fees. When any referral site accepts your switch then all it does is pass your details on to the supplier. The supplier manages the transfer in accordance with the terms of its Supply Licence.
Normally, the gaining supplier will confirm that application to switch within 24 hours which starts the contract cooling off period. Clearly, something has gone amiss. Have you e-mailed MSE CEC to see if your switch application was passed on? Personally, If I had heard nothing within 24 hours then I would have contacted the gaining supplier.
How long ago did you initiate the switch? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
