Will I get paid this month??

  • Hey all, thanks for your comments!

When I was offered the position with PWC back in ovtober I was sent an portal login with tasks I had to complete, which included bank details and NI number. They’ve advised me to bring my passport and home address on first day for confirmation. I will also bring P45. So they will have everything they need on the 4th.

I originally thought the cut off period was for expenses, over time and for new starters who needed to be put on before that time. When I worked at a recruitment firm we would have a payroll cut off period for expenses and I was still paid the full months wages even though I started beginning of month.

My mum however works at a shop and says her payroll cut off means they only get paid up to that day, however the payroll cut off is like the 20th.

So I’m still majorly confused what I might do Ian email the agency again and try get an accurate idea so I can plan accordingly
  • Are you salaried or paid by the hour? Your mother, working in a shop, is almost certainly paid by the hour.

There are so many variables that the only people who will be able to answer the question are either HR or Payroll at Currys. I think the best you can expect is to be paid to the 22nd, and at worst from the 4th to the 10th.

I thought OP was at Price, Waterhouse Cooper.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • I’m on a salary and my mum is paid by hour.

Chances are the agency won't know if it is a proper job and not an agency job.

Best chance is someone that works there that knows the pay periods but there is still a chance that locally they forget to hit a date and you miss any Dec payroll.
  • I’m working at Price, Waterhouse Cooper NOT curry’s. The job is with PWC itself and not agency work. I was put forward for the job through an agency as PWC outsourced recruitment. The agency asked the HR department at PWC and I was forwarded the email he sent to them, which is what was said above in my original post.

I suspect that poster has misread PWC to be PC World or PCW as an abbreviation.
  • I already asked the company and that is what they said! Me and my mother both had different views on what a cut off date meant and I wanted other peoples views before I went and hounded the HR department again over something I could possibly find out myself.
