Child Benefit

Morning all.
I've always understood that for Child Tax Credits if one of a married couple earn over £35k for 2 children then you don't qualify.
My understanding of Child Benefits was that everyone gets them no matter how much you earn. I recently went over the £50k bracket in June and i saw on TV last night that you can't claim if you earn over over £50k.
£50k-£60k you pay a portion of tax and over £60k you pay the whole amount back in tax.
My wife doesn't work and receives the child benefit so I assume this counts towards her NI contributions and thus state pension.
Am I right in the above?
If so I need to tell HMRC asap but really don't want to have to start doing a tax return?
Rather than not receiving them am i better off keep getting them paid to my wife to build up her NI contributions and pay it back via my tax that i pay?
THANK YOU!

No this is wrong.
Child tax credits decline depending on income and you almost certainly wont get them if you have a household income of over £35k.
Child benefits depend on how many children you have but are a fixed amount. I thought that the threshold was one person on £49k (should be less).0
