Currys extended warranty

I have bought integrated washing machine through Currys. The warranty exparies soon and they offered me 3 years warranty for 84pounds, which is not too expensive. My question is did anyone has experience with extended warranty with currys? Please advise

  • A warranty is bound by terms and conditions. None of us are privy to what they say.

You have statutory rights aside from any warranty.
  • It's probably this:

    as it's £79.99 for 3 years (for a washer priced between £151 and £200).

  • The washing machine cost about 300 pounds new. What I would like to know if anyone had any experience with it?

I wouldn't usually recommend any extended warranty, however we have two and they have been worth it to us.

One is for the washer/dryer because it breaks down so often and it only costs £5 a month with Domestic and General. D and G get some bad press, but I've found them ok and once you get through to them on the phone they do organise an engineer quickly. Our machine is 10 years old now and has just has most of it's parts replaced under the warranty which will see us through until we replace it. We will probably be replacing the washer/dryer with a washing machine soon and doubt we will bother with the warranty again.

The other is for the iron because for some reason mine only last a year or so before they stop working. In fact mine broke down yesterday and I'm off to Currys today to get a new one.

On the whole I think extended warranties are a waste of money, but they have been worth it for just those two items.
