Instagram username question

- I'd really appreciate some advice please.
I'm trying to sign up with Instagram for my new small business. The username I've chosen is my business name - a fairly unusual one - which is not already taken, but the system will not allow *just* the name and keeps adding four random digits to the end.
I then tried other names just to see what would happen, and again, four random digits were added to everything I tried. It will not allow me any username without numbers.
Please does anyone know why this is and how I can get round it? I've never noticed this on anyone else's username and don't want numbers after my mine. Maybe I'm just unobservant but is this a general requirement for Instagram? I looked online before posting this question but can't find any info about it.
