Hi - my daughter has had a letter from npower stating that someone has asked to change her to another company, she has now been told they cannot take it back and she will be transferred to East Midlands Electricity?? What should she do?? we believe that EME once belonged to Eon but maybe now part of Western distribution?? anyone know?

East Midlands Electricity ultimately ended up as Powergen which is now part of E-On. Western Distribution was split from E-On and covers most of the Midlands, Wales and the South West.
Did your daughter apply to change provider?0 -
We used to be with what was E.M.Electric donkey's years back it seemed. As above its now EON0

It seems that your daughter has been the victim of an 'Erroneos Transfer' - These happen when someone else has Switched and their data has been scrambled as it's processed through the system.
The rule is that an innocently affected customer must be returned to the original supplier and suffer no financial loss.
This needs a letter of Complaint to both N'power and the new supplier
However this is N'power.
Examine the costs of supply from both N'power and the new supplier - She might be better off leaving sleeping dogs lie0 -

Second thoughts !
Your daughter has at present a new supplier, albeit due to an error in the Switching system.
However she isn't the only one involved, somewhere out there is a customer who initiated a Switch that didn't happen.
Switch errors can happen for many reasons - Error in Supply No. - Postcode - Meter No. etc.
Highly unlikely all of this information is wrong, just one piece and that could lead to your daughter being billed for energy used by an entirely different household.
CHECK any bill from the new supplier for:
Correct name - 100% Accurate Address - Correct Elec Supply No. - Correct Meter No.0
