Halifax - PPI claim query.

As a lot of people seem to have successful PPI claims my parents have decided to submit a claim to Halifax bank.
We are currently unsure if they paid PPI on the loan and mortgage because we don't have any documentation to hand. My parents completed the questionnaire about three weeks ago and today the bank called and wanted further clarification despite already completing the claim form. My mother was unsure what to say, i was wondering if anyone could provide some advice?
Shouldn't it be simple?
Many thanks

I'm not sure there is any other reply to give!0

Whats not simple about it......answer their questions truthfully and see what transpires0

I do see your point but I would it be possible to receive documentation from the bank to confirm that PPI was taken out at the time of the loan/mortgage was issued?0

Send £10 for a SAR or wait till Halifax check to see if they hold anything .
They wont lie to youmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Depends how long ago it was but that sounds like a SAR under the DPA which will cost £10. A quick phone call may avoid this. Believe it or not they are not looking to catch you out by phoning.0

^ Thanks, do you think it is best to request SAR before they call the bank back again?0
-
No, just talk to 'em.
If it turns out they had ppi, the important thing is why they feel it was mis-sold, What complaint reasons do they have?0
