Changing a Drayton thermostat

My sisters boiler clicks on, and on, and on when it comes on; it works ok otherwise.
Her heating system uses a 'Tempus Three' thermostat. I have read that these controllers have a back plate, and a more modern controller may be an easy switch.
I have never done anything like this, is it a easy job? Cost?

It looks like it will be compatible with the current Drayton models:

Does the front part slide off, and a newer model slide in its place?0 -

The Drayton Tempus Three is not a thermostat, it is a simple programmer and it is unlikely to be the cause of this problem that you describe:
"My sisters boiler clicks on, and on, and on when it comes on; it works ok otherwise"
The programmer is either calling for heat or it is not, so you need to locate the actual fault and not make assumptions that it is the programmer.0
