Car accident in taxi

HI There, This is my first post and its probably going to be quite long so please bare with me!
10 Months ago I was involved in a car accident, I caught a taxi to work as I do everyday. The taxi driver pulled up onto the pavement (there was stand still traffic in front and behind us) so that I could get out of the taxi and as I opened the rear left passenger door to get out the guy in the car behind us mounted the pavement in order to overtake the taxi and get into the entrance of the car park a little before us. In doing so he smashed straight into the door which I was in the process of opening and nearly took it completely off its hinges pulling me forward with it. ( Luckily I had not yet exited the taxi and it was just my left arm holding the door open.)
At the scene of the accident both myself, the taxi driver and the other guy got out of the car and he admitted that it was his fault but begged the taxi driver not to go through his insurance as he was a new driver. The taxi was badly damaged to the door and his right wing mirror was damaged on his car.
There were no photos or anything taken at the scene and the taxi driver and other driver exchanged details, then left.
I had to visit the hospital as I had severe pain in my left arm, shoulder, abdomen and back which ended up in me having to take 5 weeks off work and take strong painkillers.
I started a claim against the other driver, however in the mean time the taxi company informed me that the other drivers parents had visited the taxi rank that evening and kicked off massively ( I assume he didn't tell them the real story of what happened) At the time of the accident I wasn't aware but the other driver actual recognized who I was as his father knew my mother, the driver contacted my Mom the day after the accident asking her to get me to change my story about what happened as his insurance would go through the roof if a claim was made against him.
Fast forward several months and all of a sudden the other drivers insurance company are saying that they dispute my version of events and have sent pictures of the taxi door with zero damage saying that I had opened my car door onto his car whilst both cars were stationary. It turns out the taxi company were now going along with his side of the story!! I can only imagine this is some dodgy deal they have done with the driver about repairing their taxi.
I pointed out to my solicitor that the pictures could not have been taken at the scene of the accident as there were yellow markings on the floor in the pictures whereby there were no markings like this at the scene or near the scene of the accident, I also pointed out the phone call to my mother and that the taxi company had also filed a report with the local council taxi licensing department the day after the accident reporting the actual true account of what happened.
Since receiving this new information the insurance company have come back and said that the original person handling the file has now left the company and a new file handler has taken on the case but they have still not accepted liability.
My solicitor sent me for a medical last week and the doctor said I have damage to my rotary cuff and only 50% of normal movement in the left upper side of my body, he has said I need physio for this and it could take another year for me to recover, but my solicitor is saying this would be at a cost to me as the other side haven't yet admitted liability.
Sorry for waffling on but I have never been in this situation before ( I don't even drive myself) so I just don't know if this is the usual protocol or what to expect from here on out.
I would really appreciate any input.
Thanks

You can't submit your full claim to the third party insurer until you have all the medical evidence - so all you need to do is concentrate on dealing with that aspect, hence why your solicitor is proceeding with this side of things.
I don't think you have anything to worry about in relation to liability - you're an innocence passenger. They can't reject liability for your injuries. One way or the other one of the insurers will be paying your claim - for you, it doesn't matter which ones pays it.0
