  • Thanks for your advice all - I'll be keeping this away from my insurers I think unless I really need to get them involved.
    I'd rather not cause problems with my neighbours even if I won't be living in my flat forever. I would rather fix it all without having to involve insurers and property managers. The less hassle obviously the better.
    I'll speak to my neighbours directly about fixing the damage (if there is anything to fix).
    P.s Moneyistooshorttomention - As much as he is an absolute melon, Im quite keen on the PW. I think I'll keep him for now ;) First offence and all.

    You'll prob find you need a dehumidifier. You wouldn't believe the amount of water that will still be in the wood below. When I had a leak, I had one under and on the floor for ages (leak went through the ceiling below) and for years after, the skirting boards and door frame below totally buckled and cracked like gunshot every time it got really hot in summer. Never did dry out properly I don't think.
