thanks pap, I am just grumpy and feeling a bit alone. I sort of wish I had friends on this site, maybe I thought I did and it's come as a surprise that I don't. I find it really hard to open up, and I've been trying - but it's just ignored, so I guess I don't belong.

LookingAhead - you have me drooling - those cinnamon danishes are too good - probably no nutritional value but they make up for it with sugar, mmm.

awww fac really. Sorry, i must say i dont 'follow' many relegiously but i do like to read everyones posts when i can, especially as you do when they post on this thread. I cant help as i am not maternal/motherly at all. Dont say you dont belong, you do, right here, i would sure miss it if you left as with most of my fave posters (ok that sould crewl ~ i love you all i do). I wish you were closer i could take you out for coffee and have a chat, you seem like a person that would be a great coffee morning person. Dont feel alone pm me if you wanna, i will listen and 'try' and give advice ~ my shoulders are broad and more than enough room for little you :A

I spent £11.50 today taking me and DD ice skating......... normally we go to the one 45 miles away in dundee (that's to say we have been twice!) this usually costs about £16.00 for us both.

Today we went to the nearer one in Aberdeen, 25 miles away, it only cost £11.50 but it was rubbish!! The place was mobbed, we are neither of us good skaters but we are trying to learn. There was no support, tons of speed skaters and it was just well below par of the more expensive and further away option.

Should i write to them and complain....?

We skated round 2-3 times and left.......... What a waste of money....
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • Yep - it was an NSD for me .

Fortunately, when I got taken out for lunch, there was nowhere to separately have a drink, so I didn't feel the need to buy a drink before the meal, so all the drinks got put on the bill and I didn't feel guilty about it:beer:

Maz, my ex wrote to a local leisure centre after taking DS, he paid full price and the free slides were broken (noone mentioned this on the way in to him) - he was hacked off as other local pools are cheaper and this was the pull with this one, result was they got a couple of free passes to go back another time so I'd say for the cost of a stamp it's worth a go.

Im afraid to say I went slightly wayward, and went to the pub. I only overall spent £1 though because I won on the quiz machine, so not too bad. Still, not the NSD I was hoping for!
