Can anyone help me with my Amazon Fire 7?

I have never owned a tablet before. Firstly, can anyone recommend a good free virus, malware, spyware etc. protection for my tablet?
I bought the Amazon Fire 7 yesterday and am learning how to use it. The Shop icon was working but when I click on it now I'm getting a message saying I have to register my device to my amazon account. I have already done that and all the other connections to my account such as audio books and kindle are all working fine.
Last thing, is there an option to log out? I ask because of security reasons. Is it whenever you switch the tablet on and off, you are automatically logged in and logged out of your amazon account?

I bought my Fire from Amazon, so it came already linked to my account, so haven't experienced what you mention.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £16,087.170 -
No need to log in and out of your Amazon account, but you should really set a PIN or lockscreen password to prevent unauthorised access.
