Can anyone recommend a good power washer? Are Karcher still decent?
Looking for an all rounder, something to wash the car with, keep the paving clean etc.
Cheers

I have a Nilfisk (or similar spelling). It's great. Be careful of the power setting on the car or you'll just strip the paint.0

That was going to be my next question. Do you have a specific car attachment, or do you just stand well back to lessen the power on the car?0

I have two Nilfisk power washers.
Excellent machines for the price which was about £75.00 delivered.
Only thing that is a bit annoying is the length of the hose.
I find it a bit short even when I only have a small car.
I suppose you get what you pay for.....I could buy a longer hose if I wanted.0 -
I had a Nilfisk c120 that lasted me about five years. Bear in mind, I used it weekly to wash the car. I've replaced it with a fancier more powerful Nilfisk.
Regarding stripping the paint: the pressure washers (incl from Karcher) came with a regular spray lance and a tornado type lance (has a spinning nozzle). The tornado type is excellent for cleaning patios and driveways, and also for damaging car paint. Stick to the normal spray lance and keep a reasonable distance from the car. My nozzle is spread to a moderately wide fan and I keep the nozzle at least 12" away from the paintwork. Any scratches, stone chips or other similar damage could allow the clearcoat or the paint to be lifted away so exercise caution in these areas.0 -
The Nilfisk E145 looks to be the best £/power. The P150 adds some slightly different materials, but only 40litres/min extra (under 10%) for a good 60% higher price.
One word - don't expect any of these plastic domestic washers to be much use at cleaning patios. It'll take an age to do even moderate sized areas with them! I had a proper 21 litres/min machine as part of business armoury for a few years and anything less just sends me nuts with impatience!0
