Hi everyone
I'm another ill one....had a terrible cough all last week and managed to get a doctors appointment on Friday. I was right...yet another chest infection, so I've got antibiotics and have been in bed most of the weekend. Last winter, I had one after the other so I hope this year's not going to be the same...doctor says 'I'm just one of those unlucky people!'
I'm thinking about texting my boss this afternoon and saying I won't be in tomorrow so she can get someone else organised, as I really don't think I'll be well enough. If I had stayed at home on Thursday and Friday last week I may not have got so ill, but never mind.
So I've been up and had some soup and I'm going to go back to bed and do some reading....and perhaps another nap.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

Afternoon all, get well wishes to the poorlies and tge walking wounded. RR that all sounds exciting!
I have been prepping for Sunday dinner. We'll have roast chicken and I've peeled spuds, root veg, made some stuffing (idiotically forgot to put any onion in but it still tastes nice without) set some milk to infuse for bread sauce and I'll do green veg later. I don't usually do greens in advance as I read somewhere, years ago, that the vitamin content is depleted if you do that in advance. Probably a load of old rubbish but whatever.
My mum rang, spoke to OH, who revealed helpfully that she was going to put the rubbish out, and I think they might have talked about the weather. Very fascinating but at least I know she's ok.
I am going to do nothing of note now.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -

Afternoon all
I'm feeling much livelier today. We went down to DD's this morning for coffee, that was nice. DGS had a rought night after his Men B jab, but was cheerfull this morning and pleased to see us.
Then we went into town to get bits and pieces for the train Advent calendar thingy. We found some bits in Hawkin's Bazaar but got some nice items in the pound shop, including Christmas stickers. I bought some face cream in Superdrug and vitamin D tablets in H&B. I was also tempted by some cashew nut butter. DH couldn't walk past the Dine in for £10 in M&S so he chose lasagne, med vegetable and apple pie. And of course a bottle of wine.
Well that's my day. Holly H hope your leg improves soon. Lainey, healing vibes coming your way.
Have a good evening folks and keep warm.

GWS wishes for all the poorlies and walking wounded. And a message for young Lulu - well done of taking yourself back home to your yard, but really, not dumping your Mum on the floor in the first place would be better.
Having a rough day myself today; the lupus has decided to give me a hard time of it. Need to be better by tomorrow, Daisy will be here at 11:00 in the morning. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Had family over for lunch and I am trying to run down the freezers so made quite a lot. A huge cottage pie with leeks in the topping, roast potatoes and parsnips, sausages, some marinated chicken and peas.
Have warned the family they might be getting some varied dishes while I use up what I have and empty some space for Christmas food.
Downstairs shower has conked out again and not sure if it is the pull switch or the shower itself so phoned electrician who is going to try to call in tomorrow.
Hugs to especially those feeling poorly."This site is addictive!"
