Cost of a Bungalow Extension

Hi,
I live in the South East and I am looking to buy a 2 bedroom semi detached bungalow. It comes with planning permission so it can either be extended at the back to create a bigger living room and large kitchen diner. It also has the option to put two room and a bathroom upstairs.
Just wondering if anyone has had an extension built on their property recently, what you had done and a rough idea of price. I will get a couple or 3 quotes from builders, but wanted to see what I should be expecting first.
Thanks in advance

I’m not sure how we can even guess when there’s no reference, no sizes, nothing.
It’s like asking how much ‘a car’ costs.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'll play. I had a conservatory added to my house. £17k.
My friends are having a two-storey extension added. £68k.
A relative in the south west is almost complete on a £300k extension project.
I hope that's helpful.0 -
The plans are for two average size double bedrooms upstairs, plus a bathroom of 9"x8"
The back extension to extend the living room/ dining area is 3m x 7m0 -
You're still not giving sufficient information for anyone to provide any meaningful advice. Some floor plans would be very helpful, for example. Otherwise, we don't know whether the extension is filling in a corner for example, whether a party wall is involved and so on. Do you know if the foundations are sufficient to accommodate a second storey? Is the proposed bathroom anywhere near the services it will need?0

It will not allow me to make the below a clickable URL as I do not have enough posts but it shows the current floorplan and the proposed layout.

pretty difficult (impossible) to guess a price for a loft conversion ime, no idea what level of structural alterations are involved here.
The extension looking at the size of it, finger in the air I would say 1700-2k per m2This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
