Wood Burning Stove Fans

Do these fans make a big difference?
In our living room where the stove is the heat is fantastic... however the heat in the hall is pretty cold by comparison.... we have started leaving the door open pretty wide and noticed a notable change in the temperature whilst the heat in living room stays decent.
Would one of those stove fans be a good investment? Someone told me they throw out a lot more heat. I was thinking it may be useful to point the fan towards the hall to help heat up other areas of the house, whilst we stay toasty too..

Provided the house is reasonably well insulated and had decent glazing etc. The warm air will travel via convection currents. The stove top fans will speed this up, the don't technically create anything. I have 1 on top of each stove and they do speed up the time it takes to get warm air around the room. You would need a bigger fan to shirt it much further than that though. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
