Nationwide bank transfer fraud
Comments
-
A bank transfer is exactly like giving someone cash. Don't blame the bank if the recipient is a crook, you chose who to give it to.
Neither should you ask a question on a public forum then complain when you get civil answers that aren't what you want to hear.0 -
Bank transfers cannot be stopped once the money has left your account. It is theoretically possible to recall the money but the fraudsters know this and will move it on instantly.
Unless the police manage to recover it (very unlikely) your money is gone. As much as you'd like to blame Nationwide the blame lies firmly with you.0 -

This is from Nationwide themselves:5. Choose when to be direct
Avoid paying for goods via direct bank transfer, unless you know the person well or you can confirm that the company is reputable.0 -
The company was a reputable one it was traders who deal with my fixtrade.com
As I previously mentioned Barclays are willing to look into it and asked for Nationwide cooperation but they refused to cooperate with Barclays.0 -
No reputable company would tell you to do a bank transfer.
It's easy for Barclays to say that knowing you are not their customer. If that money has gone from Barclays (which it will have) then what can Barclays do - nothing.0 -

I'll say what you don't want to hear.
Your money is lost.
Sorry.0 -

No company address,
No phone number,
No company number or details of where or if they are actually resisted as a company anywhere.0 -

'Mike Evans CEO' appears to be the identical twin of David Harris, the Australian actor.

Even has the same taste in shirts.
Can't find the other two, no doubt their pictures are equally genuine.0 -

Aye, and the whois lookup is equally inconclusive (they use a company to help hide the personal information)...
Although it was registered in July 2017 and expires in July 2018 (possible chop shop).
Of course, there are a few interesting things about the website....
I wonder if this is OP?

$7750 is roughly £6,000 give or take a few pennies
It would be funny if this was the actual member list, freely available for all to see!
