Morning everyone,
Have just tucked into eggy bread with cooked toms after an early, cold start getting over to the stables for 7am. Lulu was very 'jolly' going out to her field and I only just held on to her, she is a real flirt with one of the geldings next to her and really pranced around when his owner brought him out
Not much in the way of plans today, the house is all done so apart from a bit of washing there are no chores today. Am meeting my friend back over the yard this afternoon and we will take the horses out across the fields, will wrap up as it's cold but beautiful with the sun out.
Easy tea as it's Saturday, have a pizza base in the freezer so will top that with goats cheese and red onion, with winter slaw to go with.
Ouch HH that does sound painful, do you have any arnica at all as will bring the bruises out, warm bath would be good as well, take care x
That meal sounds delicious Nelski and something that I would choose in a pub, do love a picky kind of meal!
Hugs to all that need one, have a good day folks x0 -
Afternoon everyone, I would have been here earlier but we had some temporary problem with the Internet, of possibly could be my tablet.
Holly, take it easy, I second the suggestion of arnica.
I am feeling a bit miz as I've got earache and in flexed sinuses, I know that they are my weak points. I've had a steamy bath, that sometimes helps.
Dumpling, I hope your day with Becky is a good one.
OH is cooking today, no idea what, perhaps a piece if fish for me, great portions of meat for them. I'm doing tomorrow and that will be chicken. I like Sunday roasts but recently have found that I find it difficult to eat as I've been standing at a hot oven. Still, I can do the preparation early in the day.
No snow here but I've heard that there has been some a couple of miles away, that's practically next door in this vast sprawl of a city. I don't have to go out so a pretty day of snow woukd be nice, how selfish is that!
OH has been shopping and I've more or less completed the War on Mould in the bathroom. I thought I had finished and then found another little patch.
Hope everyone enjoys their day, industrious or idle (mine is the idle one)I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Afternoon all
Bright and cold here today. Still not much going on. I feel a bit odd as I think I caught DGS's cold but it hasn't come out. Just a bit light headed. DH sat in the bedroom while I had my shower in case I felt wobbly in the shower.
DH has gone to hobby craft to get some more paint for the train advent calendar he bought there ready to paint. Now we have the challenge of finding tiny items to put in it for DGS. We will try harper's Bazaar tomorrow.
HH take it steady after your fall. HH hope your birthday celebrations are going well. JackieO good bargain on ferry ticket. Dumpling hope Becky feels better soon. Gers hope mum is improving. LW hope you fell better now after the trip to the hospital and well done on driving.
Well I signed up for three months Kindle Unlimited today. Deal is on until Dec 1st. Plenty of snuggling up and reading in my future I think.
Hugs and spoons all round. Keep warm everyone.

Holly you have my sympathy; it's so darned embarrassing when other people see you go base over apex, isn't it? Did anyone offer any assistance?
I confess to not being in the best frame of mind today; but this is normal the day after a doggie goes home. I'll have another guest, Daisy, coming on Monday, though, so that's good. And Suzie is coming back in February; her Mum asked about the dates she wanted when she came to collect her yesterday, I confirmed I was free and would love to have Suzie again, and she went online and did the booking as soon as she got home! :T
ETA We seem to have two threads started for 25th November; could the board guides work their magic and merge them perhaps? If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
A late one from me today. We slept in this morning, had a message to say that a friend and her husband were coming to collect a rhubarb crown from the garden, so a quick dive out of bed and dressed.
They stayed for a cup of tea, before heading off to plant the rhubarb in their garden.
Yesterday I collected a bag, the lady wanted a bottom support for it, so 2 layers of old mounting board and a sleeve of calico and it was done. I have an order for another bag but I need to check the measurements before I cut out the fabric.
Sunny but brr..... out, the heating is on low to keep the house warm. There a lot of things I will economise on, heat is not one of them!!0 -
Hi all.
Just a quick one from me as I hurt my wrist last night. I picked up the kettle to make a cuppa and something went snap. Anyway I'm typing left handed and it's going very slowly. My wrist feels better today but it is still strapped up. On the bright side I'm sure nothing's broken but painful when turned a certain way .
HollyH take care my lovely, just rest up for a while.
Just going to send hugs to all the poorlies and the worried, hopefully see you tomorrow.

Afternoon all. OMG I had forgotten just how much I hate winter. Today has been so cold. We had a lovely sunny morning but it made no impression on the lying snow. After lunch, out of the blue, we had a heavy shower and that soon saw the snow off!
I got the bus down into town this morning and once we started heading down the hill there was no sign of snow! The penalty for living on top of a hill! Anyway I popped into M & S as planned and it was busier than I have seen it for a long time. Everybody with their baskets stuffed with tempting Xmas goodies but I was restrained and just stuck to my little list!
I hope today went well with Becky DUMPLING and well done on your wardrobe clearance! We have some poorlies on here today nursing colds so I hope you soon feel better.
I decided on jacket spuds for tea - prawn and seafood sauce for Mr TA. Tuna Mayo for me. It's not exactly a salad day but I will serve them with some anyway! I also left some pork out defrosting and want to leave that in the sc overnight for tomorrow's lunch. My meat stocks are running low in the freezer now and I could do with seeing some more ys bargains! If not then at least some good offers!
As usual I am looking forward to tonight's Strictly. Surely time will be up for Susan and Kevin this week! Then I shall be in the jungle later! After thinking at first that Toff would be highly irritating I am really warming to her and she is now up with Stan as my two favourites!
Have a nice evening folks and take care xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Good afternoon all
I feel the need to share my OS exploits today.
I have cleaned all my windows, the bathroom, the kitchen, hoovered, mopped and dusted along with 2 loads of washing and a couple of emails sent I had been putting off...so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself.
No idea what's for dinner, I haven't eaten today as for some reason I just do not feel hungry. My stomach is a bit sore so maybe that is why?
Dumpling ((hugs)) to you and Becky. Hope she got her haircut.
HH sorry to hear about your fall, I hope you soon feel better.
Nannywindow Oh no, hope the wrist soon mends.
Nelski your dinner last night sounds lovely, just the sort of thing I like too.
((hugs))) to those feeling under the weather and anyone else who needs one.
Enjoy your Saturday evening everyone'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Evening all,
well it is almost. So many of us are in the wars today. Hope your aches and pains ease soon HollyHarvey and Nannywindow. Hester i hope your repair bill isnt too high which reminds me, we could do with having our central heating boiler serviced at some point.
Busy day for me, food shop bought, It was £30 a week lower than it would be usually but thats because Grump is away most of the week.
Surprised this morning to discover my skinny jeans were a little looser on me than they were last time i wore them. Nothing really to celebrate but at least its a loss and not a gain.:)
Youngests telephone interview with the police was a waste of time. He was on the phone all of 5 minutes where he was told to report the fraud on the Action Fraud website.... I'm annoyed he hasnt returned the fraudulent goods to the online website today. They should have been returned as soon as .... but as it is, they will be hanging around the house for another week. The parcel is too big for me to carry, certainly too big to be put in a bag with handles.... I hope he doesnt think i'm going to struggle down the Post Office with it.
Today i have
Shopped for food
Made a chicken flan for tea
vacuumed downstairs
Take it easy now all, the evening is almost upon us.

Can I be added to the walking wounded list please as had my first fall off Lulu this afternoon
We were out across the fens with friend and her horse, they were both a tad jolly so to speak and refused to go past a flappy piece of plastic in a ditch so we turned round and headed for home. Not sure who kicked it off first but they both bolted, full gallop, back to the yard. I stayed on for a while but could see a turning in the track coming up fast, Lulu decided to turn right but I went left
Luckily we both had our back protectors on so apart from being muddy and winded not much damage was done, I did break the arm off my glasses though and have some grazes on my face plus general aches of the sort when you hit the deck at 30 plus mph!
Both the horses went straight back to the yard where they were caught and put in their stables, the kind owner came out to get us and didn't even mind us putting mud all over his back seat!
At least that's the first fall over and done with0
