Sorry folks, another laptop buyer - what to sacrifice

But for Photoshop work a poor screen goes beyond being a compromise - it makes the whole endeavour pointless if you don't know what your work actually looks like

your review is forTypical of an entry-level laptop, G5 has a basic screen. It’s 15.6 inches across and 1366 x768 pixel resolution. This is the sort of screen that has been used in laptops for well over a decade. It’s not very sharp.
The laptop I linked to is1920 x 1080 Resolutio
How can it be the same screen?0 -
Oops, I think I copied the link from the wrong browser tab :embarasse
Somewhere there's another review of a laptop that's actually in the same range with the same screen as your link.
Honest!
Yes, I'm an idiot.0 -

Yes, this is the way to go! The advantage of buying an SSD by yourself is that you will get a longer warranty from SSD vendors directly. (You can keep using your SSD with another computer if you like to ..)
1) get a 2.5inch usb enclosure like this, then you can reuse the existing 1TB hard disk as an external device
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORICO-2-5-inch-Transparent-5Gbps-USB3-0-to-Sata3-0-HDD-Case-Enclosure-Tool-Free-/282720191462
2) Or even you can get a bigger SSD ? It is really depends upon how you would use your computer. if it is OK for 2-3 years use 250GB, then you can get a much cheaper (and larger) SSD ?
At Amazon, both are high end performance models. (It seems that BX300 keeps its price competitive at the moment, which is a good news)
Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB (5 years warranty) £136
Crucial BX300 (3 year warranty) £121
One fundamental question: How do you use photoshop? If you are a casual photoshop user, you may not need a top-end spec? (as long as you use an SSD lol) It really depends how to use your computer in the future.
Happy computing
