No Claims; one car; two drivers
Options
Hi. I would appreciate guidance from the forum group. My wife and I own and use one car (it is formally my car). We both have 10+ No Claims Discount for when we owned two cars. How can we both retain the NCD as they become invalid after 2 years? Can we wife insure my car or there a better option? Thank you.

Take turns in taking out the cover each year.0

You will almost certainly find you do not have "10+ years" - you have full NCD. This may be as few as five years, it may be as many as seven or eight, depending on the insurer. It's very unlikely any insurer will recognise "10+".
But, as suggested, simply alternate your names as policyholder each year.0 -

We had this recently. We have had one car for the last 8 years, in my wife's name so she got the bonus. Earlier this year we decided we could do with a second car, bought one and contacted our existing insurance company, LV who said I could have full bonus on the new policy as I was a named driver on the other.
So first step is to talk to your existing company and if they won't help look for a company who will when renewal time comes along.0
