Purchasing white goods before completion?

Is it okay to make large purchases when waiting for mortgage completion?
We are in the process of buying but won’t complete until after the new year. We’d like to buy some new ‘white goods’ for our new house and thought it would be a good idea to make use of sales at the moment. I’m talking up to £800 on a new washing machine and integrated dishwasher.
This isn’t coming from our deposit money but other savings we have. Any advice would be great as I’m a worrier and don’t want the mortgage company to back out.

If you've Exchanged, then yes.
Jan is probably cheaper though, and also gives you time to research exactly which make/model is best (not just the sparkliest in the store!)
Either check you can arrange delivery for a day or 2 after Completion date, or have somewhere to store stuff.0 -
I am wondering how certain you are that you are getting an integrated dishwasher of the correct dimensions?
It really is better to wait until you have easy access to the new property (i.e. living there), settle in, decide what are the best things for your property (once living there, you might change your mind as to colour schemes, what fits where/location etc).0 -
