Halifax old mppi document

We had our mortgage 1988 with the Halifax moving to second home 1993 on both occasions were told the mortgage would only be offered if we have mortgage protection , which we still have today ...I have both mortgage roll numbers and paperwork from 1993 about mppi ,, I even remember receiving notification circa 1990 that due to economy etc that they were reducing the policy from 2yrs to 12mnths should my husband lose his job but premiums stayed the same ,,I have filled in questionnaire this week ...I’ve tried to establish in vain as with a new mortgage the roll number will change this is obvious , but I’m trying to establish if the original mppi would have been the same account or will this be different ....
We made a claim in 2011 for 3months will this get the claim disregarded as I’ve made the distinction of it being misold as we wouldn’t have been offered the mortgage ,, or will this be taken into if any account of the full claim ,,,any advice would be appreciated

You dont need to establish anything unless Halifax themselves can find no record of it.

It doesnt get it disregarded. However, it eliminates a number of reasons people give for complaint. e.g. you cant say you didnt know about or that you were not eligible or that you didnt have a financial need for it.

If your complaint is sucessful, they deduct the payout from the redress.

Was life assurance was mandatory back in 88, MPPI wasnt unless you bought a mortgage deal with an insurance cross subsidy. Something that is allowed.
