Boil pasta shapes as instructions a minute or so before finished add a tin/jar of hot dog sausages chopped into chunks to the water to heat through. Drain then add a tub of Dolmio stir in sauce (we use sweet pepper). Serve with part baked bread (about 8 mins in oven) and a bag of salad leaves.
Sweet n sour
Stir fry sliced pepper, onions, etc into softened a little. Then add chopped up fresh pineapple and add a jar of Sharwoods sweet n sour sauce (we use the little jars without the bits) to heat through. Then add chopped up leftover chicken/pork until piping hot. Serve with 2 min micro rice
Chicken Korma
Stir fry veg and left over meat and add a jar of korma sauce (the one from Netto is lovely) Serve with rice as above and naan bread or poppadums.
Fresh Tuna/Tomato stew
Fry chopped onion, chunk of root ginger and clove garlic til soft. Add approx 12 oz chopped fresh tomatoes (vine ones are better flavour) Add 1/2 tsp cumin and 2 tbsp chopped parsley. Cook approx 5 mins to soften tomatoes slightly> Add 1/2 pt fish stock boil then simmer 15 mins until soft and pulpy. Add 8oz fresh tuna cut into chunks. Cover and simmer 5 mins season to taste and serve with rice.
Chilli Salmon Tagliatelle
Put approx 14ox tagliatelle onto boil. Gently fry about 1lb salmon fillet 5 - 8 mins until it flakes. Heat tbsp oil and 2oz butter in pan and fry 1 large red chilli chopped and 3 cloves garlic finely chopped until soft but not brown.
Add drained pasta, flaked salmon and a bag of watercress to the pan. Toss together. Season and serve
Sesame pork noodles
Heat a wok or large fry pan (without oil) and toast 2 tbsp sesame seeds. Put to one side. Add 1 tbsp oil to pan and cook piece of chopped fresh ginger, and chopped garlic clove. Add 500g pork stir fry or sliced pork fillet and fry until beginning to brown. Tip in 250g broccoli cut into very small florets and 250g chopped mushrooms. Cover and cook 5 mins stirring occasionally. In mean time soak 250g egg noodles as packet instructions. Add 150ml jar of oyster sauce to fry pan, bring to boil then simmer 2 mins. Toss in noodles and heat through and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.
Spaghetti with broccoli and ham
Bring spaghetti to boil in salted water and cook as packet instructions. 2 mins before end add broccoli chopped into v small florets and cook until pasta/broc tender. Heat tbsp olive oil in fry pan and gently cook 2 chopped cloves garlic. Add approx 100g ham cut into thin strips and 250g cherry tomatoes halved. fry for couple of mins until heated through. Drain spag and broccoli (keep a mugful of water) and put back into saucepan with 3 tbsp green pesto. Add ham and tomatoo mix and stir together. Add a little of the retained cooking water if required.
All the above can be on table in 30 mins. I rarely use proper measurements of ingredients, I just either add or takeaway quantity according to what I think family will eat.

We like this, ready in 10 mins (or less if you really are hungry):
Serves 2 (double up for 4)
150 g cous cous
1 stock cube
around 200 ml boiling water
1 salmon fillet (I use the chunky slices)
Make up stock cube with boiling water. Add to cous cous, stir and leave for 5 mins.
Microwave or poach salmon.
Stir cous cous to fluff it up.
Break up salmon fillet and stir through.
Eat!
Can be enlivened by finely chopped fresh tomato, or small bits of pepper, or a good slug of olive oil and freshly ground pepper.
If you can run to a branded flavoured cous cous (such as Ainsley Harriots) you don't need the stock cube!).Taking control, slowly.:rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Thanks everyone.......I'm really hungry now!!0
