Using Amex where it isnt accepted?

Hello All,
I have the amex rewards gold card and am trying to get to my 2k minimum spend to bag the 20k points. I want to pay my council tax via this method however they dont accept amex. is there any prepaid virtual visa or mastercards i can load up via amex? or any other solution ?

You could purchase prepay cards from tesco0

Ive read about that but paying an £1800 tax bill with £50 prepaid cards would ring alarm bells0

If they don't accept it, they don't accept it.
If they accept PayPal then you can pay with Amex using that. That's about the only way around it.urs sinserly,
