Find-DVD hasn't got Vol. 4 or Vol. 6 listed and DVD PriceCheck is too **** to check with. But, going on the other prices, there's a 99.9% chance they have the same £5 and £7 price gap all the other volumes do.

Buying all 7 volumes works out cheaper than buying the (presumably) crappy M-lock box set.

Next best = £7.99 for the movie and £11.97 + £1.45 for Vol. 2.
Vol. 1 isn't listed on Find-DVD. There's a pretty high chance HMV will have the best price by some distance going on the price of Vol. 2, but you might want to check for yourself.
Trigun: Vol.1 - The Sixty Billion Double Dollar Man -- £5.99 + 10% QuidCo
Next best = £9.99
Vampire Hunter D - £5.99 + 10% QuidCo
Next best = £7.99
God, I feel drained after doing that. Never again!
I'd just like to mention that HMV are also selling all of Excel Saga for £5.99 each. Didn't list those since the (presumably) M-lock box set is currently cheaper to buy at £32.99, which unsurprisingly is another HMV deal.
All these huge differences in prices conclusively prove 3 things:
1: Anime is retardly over-priced in the UK. There can be no argument when HMV have so much anime lower in price than other stores all at once.
2: HMV are trying to become the UK anime retailer. They'd be godly in my mind if they hadn't cancelled the Gantz box set mis-price on the very last day, somewhere between 1-2 months after ordering.
3: Only the rich and/or stupid are buying anime at the usual prices.0 -
Saw these last week... Thought I'd post them to show I'm still posting in this thread.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Season 1 (R1) - £16.46 (Including P&P)
This includes the following DVD's:
Fullmetal Alchemist 1: The Curse
Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Scarred Man of the East
Fullmetal Alchemist 3: Equivalent Exchange
Fullmetal Alchemist 4: The Fall of Ishbal
The next best UK price of all of the above is £7.89.
There currently isn't a release date for the UK box set. You can enter your email here if you would like Play.com to let you know when you can pre-order it.
DVD Pacific have lots of good prices, the Anime Legends box sets in particular all being VERY cheap. Not sure if I should order them though, can't find any pictures to see how the box sets look...
Anyway, DVD Pacific also have both Get Backers box sets for £21.29 (Inc P&P). These are excellent prices since Get Backers is a 49 episode series, which would costs £75-77 to buy all the DVD's at current UK prices.
Get Backers: Season 1 (R1)
Get Backers: Season 2 (R1)
Ordered the series 1 box set after being assured by DVD Pacific that they don't include P&P on the parcel.0 -
Since I'm such a nice guy, I'm going to share something that will make a fair few people here happy: EVERYTHING IN THE CLEARANCE SECTION AT ADV IS BACK IN STOCK!!! EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!

Madlax 1-7 at £2 each, Angelic Layer 1-7 at £2 each and some other stuff for £1. Hurry!0 -
Thanks to a post from Tune Up on another forum, I ordered some anime dvd's from Animeonline. Never used the company before, but disks came quickly and all sealed. I'm not a big anime tv fan (quite like Studio Ghibli things like Totoro), but I thought they could be good presents. Here is the link:
http://www.anime-on-line.com/xcart/home.php?cat=1083&sort=price&sort_direction=0
According to Tune Up, the best DVD's in this sale are as follows:
Saiyuki Reload: Vol. 1 (99p)
Serial Experiments Lain: Vol. 1 (99p)
Texhnolyze: Vol. 1 (99p)
Gad Guard: Vol. 1 (99p)
Zone of the Enders: Delores - Vol. 1 (99p)
Normal price for each of these is £5-8. Tune Up also recommended Chobits, but that doesn't seem to be in stock at 99p now.
I actually got mine a couple of weeks ago, but thought I had already posted it on Grabbit. Getting old.0 -
Thanks for this (and the OP in 'another forum'),
Just got 6 DVD's for £6.94 delivered.... bargain.
Apparantly the offer updates regularly so I have bookmarked to check back periodically.
thanks again.
chuffed :-)0 -
I got Howls moving castle 2 weeks ago instore at Tesco for £5.
Normally retails 3 times the price.
anime can be so expensive, esp the books and dvds.
good postA smile and manners doesnt cost any thing0 -
I don't know anything about this kind of animation, so any Anime fans feel free to add to the recommendations of the bargain dvds. I wouldn't have bothered if Tune Up hadn't recommended particular ones, as I've never heard of any of them and they all look a bit the same.0
