Hello
I'm unsure if I should be posting this here or Citizens Advice board (First time at posting so bear with!).
Ok so my question is regarding the Warm Home payments.
I am the account holder with Eon.
Unfortunatley, had to give up employment and become my sons carer 3 years ago.
I recieve a carers allowance and an income support top up.
My son is disabled and receives the higher element of PIPS and ESA.
I also have a daughter who is seriously unwell with anorexia - She receives ESA.
Does anybody know if I'm entitled to the Warm Home payment?
I have contacted Eon, tried the "live chat" but didn't get anywhere, I've tried emailing them but as of yet no reply, so tried telephoning but the call handler was unsure and advised me to contact Citizens Adv. They thought I may well be entitled but they weren't 100%.
I don't want t to apply if I'm not entitled and will get into trouble.
Please does anybody know?
Thanking you in advance for any advice you can provide me with.
Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place!:o

Two types : Core & Broader groups.
Core Group : is automatically applied to you via DWP and is generally for [Pension Credit] pensioners, if you receive Pension Credit contact your supplier.
Broader Group : Are those customers who are in or at risk of fuel poverty, your participating supplier has the discretion to offer support to those in or at risk of fuel poverty, contact your supplier.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem. Good morning Sue_Perb2017.
Thank you guys.
Please don't worry, you won't get in to trouble for applying
You can apply online using the link MoneyMate has provided.
With the Broader Group, we identify the customers who are eligible based on their receipt of certain benefits. These conditions can change year on year and customers need to apply separately each year. Applications aren't rolled over from year to year. More details of what's needed to qualify are available on our website.
Each energy supplier involved with Warm Home Discount handles the Broader Group part in their own way and with their own time frame and conditions.
Customers who qualify through the Core Group receive their payments automatically and don't need to apply. They're identified by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). The DWP will contact these customers directly.
If you need me, please let me know, I'm always happy to help.
